Vismayatheeram
The Arabian Sea forms the western border of the Kaipamangalam Grama Panchayat, attracting numerous visitors every year to witness the annual chakara (mud bank phenomenon) at Koorikuzhi Beach. Overcoming technical hurdles effectively, the Kaipamangalam Grama Panchayat aims to launch a tourism package named "Vismaya Theeram" at Koorikuzhi for the year 2022–2023.
The coastline stretches through wards 1, 15, and 19 of the panchayat. The panchayat has designated a site spanning approximately 380 meters in length in ward 19 to develop the Vismaya Theeram project. Similar beach tourism initiatives are already operational in neighboring panchayats, with Thalikulam Snehatheeram and Kazhimbram Swapnatheeram serving as key examples.
To enhance the area's natural beauty, the project is being initiated through a collaborative effort between the State Tourism Department, the Panchayat Governing Body, and local community groups.
In its initial phase, the project aims to set up:
A children's play park
An open-air gymnasium
An amusement park
A Kudumbashree/women-run restaurant
